In a strong signal of Ayodhya’s rapid transformation into a high-potential real estate hotspot, Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor has purchased a premium land parcel worth ₹3.31 crore in the city. The investment has been made in ‘The Sarayu’, a flagship plotted development by The House of Abhinandan Lodha (HoABL).

The deal involves a 2,134 sq. ft. land parcel within the 75-acre project, located along the banks of the Sarayu river in Ayodhya—one of India’s fastest-growing spiritual and tourism-driven real estate markets.

A Premium Bet on Ayodhya’s Growth Story

Ranbir Kapoor’s investment comes at a time when Ayodhya is witnessing unprecedented infrastructure-led growth. The Sarayu project is positioned as a luxury branded plotted development, offering over 35 lifestyle amenities, a grand clubhouse, and a proposed 5-acre luxury vegetarian hotel managed by The Leela.

The project aims to combine spiritual heritage with modern infrastructure—offering clear land titles, curated community living, and proximity to key religious landmarks. This positioning is increasingly attracting high-net-worth individuals and institutional interest.

Kapoor, speaking on the purchase, described Ayodhya as a place deeply rooted in India’s cultural identity and said the investment represents a long-term legacy decision for his family.

This transaction is not an isolated one. It follows a growing trend of high-value investments in Ayodhya, particularly in branded land developments. Abhinandan Lodha, Chairman of HoABL, emphasized that Ayodhya is at the center of India’s “spiritual resurgence,” driven by infrastructure, tourism, and global attention. He added that projects like The Sarayu are setting new benchmarks for land development in religious destinations.

Ayodhya’s Real Estate Boom Backed by Infrastructure

Ayodhya’s real estate story is closely tied to massive public investment and infrastructure upgrades. With over ₹85,000 crore worth of development in roads, airports, railways, and urban infrastructure, the city is rapidly evolving into a smart spiritual destination.

Tourism numbers reflect this shift dramatically. Visitor footfall has surged from around 5.75 crore annually before the Ram temple development phase to over 23 crore in just the first half of 2025. Estimates suggest that the city could attract up to 50 crore visitors annually in the near term.
