Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority (MahaRERA) the state’s body that regulates real estate industry is now seeking feedback.

The feedback can be posted online by builders, real estate agents, homebuyers, and even common citizens.

The message posted by the authority on its website reads, “MahaRERA has always been at forefront, in leveraging technology to provide anywhere, anytime and anyhow access of its services. MahaRERA is a 100% Digital Platform transforming the real estate sector in the state, promoting transparency, accountability, financial discipline, customer centricity and compliance. “Digital Governance: Paperless office with Zero Footfalls” has always been the motto of MahaRERA.”

Via the feedback, MahaRERA aims to improve and develop its services and technology platform.

Shirish Deshpande of Mumbai Grahak Panchayat (MGP), a consumer body has termed the move as a proactive and welcome step.

Deshpande, said, “It’s a proactive and welcome step under new leadership of MahaRERA. It gives signal that stakeholders are being considered in functioning of MahaRERA. I am sure MahaRERA will benefit from such feedback from the stakeholders.”

According to Deshpande, execution of MahaRERA orders is a huge challenge and the Authority will do well to take some concrete steps to provide relief to consumers who have received orders in their favour but remain unimplemented due to various bottlenecks.

Besides this, MGP has invited attention of the Chairman of MahaRERA to the need to adopt proper procedure to transfer pending Complaints to Conciliation Benches with prior consent of parties.

Only last week in a meeting of stakeholders including builders, real estate agents and members of the authority, it was decided that real estate agents aiming to register from May 2022 shall have to qualify an exam.
