The state government’s Urban Development department came out with a GR stating formation of a committee to decide the property tax on no ike towers and also the future of illegal mobile towers.

There are many a buildings in the city of Mumbai and the state that have mobile towers.

The state government’s Urban Development department came out with a government resolution.

The government resolution is about formation of a committee that will decide the property tax and also the future of illegal mobile towers.

The resolution says that in a meeting under the chairmanship of Chief secretary it was decided a committee be formed as property tax on mobile towers within Municipal corporation and municipal councils are different and it should be brought at par.

The committee will also look in to the future of the illegal mobile towers. The committee will also decide the way how these illegal mobile towers can be regularised.

The committee will be chaired by Principal Secretary, Urban Development department, the other members will be Additional Cheif Secretary of Revenue Department, Additional Chief Secretary, Rural Development Department, Secretary/Principal Secretary, Information Technology Department, and Commissioner, Directorate of Municipal Administration.

The committee shall invite experts and other secretaries as per the need too.

The committee shall be discussing the following points.
1) To being at par the tax collected on Mobile towers across the state and also to collect the arrears
2) To set Procedures and timelines for authorizing unauthorized mobile towers.
3) To provide instructional instructions regarding Access Charges.
4) To decide restoration charges

The committee will present its report in 15 days, the GR was issued on December 10.
