MahaRERA till date has received a bit over 17,000 complaints. These cases are on different issues, let’s see in how many cases has the authority passed an order.

Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority (MahaRERA) since it’s inception has received a bit over 17,000 complaints.

To be precise the number of complaints stand at 17,010.

These complaints are of several kinds, sone are for delayed possession, some are for failure of developer to hand over amenities, there are many who claim developer failed to register agreement in spite of a considerable amount being paid and there are many complaints from builders about homebuyers too.

MahaRERA has a special category where it deals with projects that ought to be registered, but have failed to registered.

Since the inception of MahaRERA in the state, it is mandatory that every project where a builder is trying to sell, advertise or market homes or commercial office spaces should register the project.

All details of the project need to be provided on the website of the authority. This includes building plans, legal title, area of the apartments, what kind of apartment for example how many 1 BHK or 2 BHKs are being offered in the project.

These details are meant to give the homebuyer an upper hand to make informed decision during purchase of a home.

Apart from this MahaRERA also entertains complaints from both builder as well as a homebuyer related to projects.

Since it’s inception MahaRERA has received a total of 17,010 complaints.

Of these MahaRERA has passed an order in a total of 11,332 complaints.

There is a further bifurcation of the total 17,010 complaints 16,152 against registered projects and in this MahaRERA has passed an ordered in 10,545 complaints.

The remaining of 17,010 complaints that is 858 are against unregistered projects and here 787 orders have been passed.

MahaRERA also has a conciliation forum where both the parties try to settle the matter amicably.

Of the tota 852 conciliation request received 749 conciliation has been completed while 103 are in process.
