An ‘agent’ in the real estate sector is a very important link between home buyers and developers. Considering the importance of these agents, its existence has also been highlighted in the RERA Act.

Agents are often the first contact customers make. Clients get the primary information regarding the project from them. Considering this importance of agents, all agents working in this sector should know the important provisions of RERA Act.

From real estate agents it is expected that Uniformity, consistency and clarity in providing basic information about regulatory provisions like Agreement for Sale, Allotment letter issued after registration of house, defect liability period etc.

It is on the basis of this information that consumers make a home buying decision. Therefore, MahaRERA has made this training and certification mandatory keeping the customer’s interest in mind.

MahaRERA has made it compulsory not only for the agents in this field but also for all the officers and employees working in any capacity from the developers who come in contact with the customers to get the certificate.

The examination for this will start from the end of April and it is mandatory to have this certificate for registration and renewal of agents from May 1. Also about 39,000 agents currently working in this field are also required to get this certificate before September 1.
