D Mart’s Avenue Supermarts Limited has won two plots in Kharghar’s Sector 36 for a bid of ₹40.39 crore.

D Mart, a name hardly anyone wouldn’t be aware about, from middle class to the rich everyone shops here.

However, the company that owns D Mart, that is Avenue Supermarts Limited is on a shopping spree.

D Mart’s Avenue Supermarts Limited won two huge plots in an e-auction held by CIDCO.

The two plots that D Mart’s main firm won are located in Kharghar’s sector 36.

The plots that Avenue Supermarts Limited won are numbered 28 and 29.

Plot number 28 measures 1962.13 square meters, for this plot the per square meter rate that was bid by D Mart’s Avenue Supermarts Limited was ₹67,500.

Thus taking the entire bid for plot 28 at ₹13.24 crore. The bidder who came second for this plot had bid ₹63,000 per square meter.

The second plot won by Avenue Supermarts Limited is plot 29, this plot measures, 2963.64 square meters.

For this D Mart’s Avenue Supermarts Limited had bid ₹91,602 per square meter thus taking the entire plot cost to ₹27.15 crore. There was only one bidder for this plot.

Both the plots are meant for residential plus commercial use and have an FSI of 1.5.

In tota 20 plots were put on auction by CIDCO of which 13 were in Kharghar, one in Panvel and the remaining in Pushpak Nagar.

A detailed email sent to Radhakishan Damani seeking his comment on the same didn’t yield us any response.

We specifically asked him about the residential part as the plots are meant for residential plus commercial use.

Earlier this year on March 31, Radhakishan Damani of D Mart along with Gopikishan Damani, bought a property located in Malabar Hill’s Narayan Dabholkar Marg.

The property measures a whooping 5752.22 square meteres, which translates into 61,916 square feet.

Both the new owners paid Rs 1001 crore for the property named Madhukunj.

The market price as per the ready reckoner rate of the property is Rs 723.98 crore.

This is the highest price ever paid for a property in Mumbai and probably in the country.

D Mart is a super market chain with its presence in several parts of the country.
