Nitori, Japan’s largest furniture and home furnishings retailer, is set to debut in India with its first store at Mumbai’s R City Mall in Ghatkopar, opening in December 2024. This marks a key milestone in Nitori’s expansion strategy, as it aims to become a leading player in India’s USD 23.9 billion home furnishings market. The R City Mall, a prime shopping destination with over 350 premium brands and a monthly footfall of 8-10 lakh visitors, offers the ideal location for Nitori’s entry into India.

Nitori’s global expansion plans include opening 289 stores by 2032, with a long-term goal of 3,000 stores worldwide and achieving sales of 3 trillion yen (approx. INR 1.65 lakh crore). The brand has already made inroads in other Asian markets, with recent store openings in the Philippines and Indonesia.

Akio Nitori, Representative Director & CEO of Nitori Holdings, expressed his commitment to enhancing homes globally, stating, “We are excited to bring Nitori products to India, supporting the growing demand for quality furniture and interiors in the region.” Nitori joins a growing list of global brands expanding into India, with R City Mall offering a comprehensive retail experience across lifestyle, fashion, and home decor.

With its competitive pricing and diverse product range, Nitori aims to attract Indian consumers seeking affordable and stylish home furnishings.
