The Directorate of Steam Boilers (D.S.B.) in Maharashtra, operating under the Labour Ministry, is set to showcase new technological advancements aimed at enhancing worker safety and steam boiler efficiency at the upcoming Boiler India 2024 conclave. The event will take place from September 25 to 27 at the CIDCO Exhibition Centre in Navi Mumbai.

A key highlight of the conclave will be the introduction of the Boiler Manufacturing Management System Software (BMMS), a tool designed to streamline the boiler manufacturing process and improve documentation practices. The Labour Ministry is committed to enforcing stricter safety protocols to ensure that industries adhere to the latest safety standards, thereby protecting workers across the state.

Labour Minister Dr. Suresh Khade emphasized the importance of these initiatives, stating, “These seminars are essential tools that ensure worker safety and the optimum utilization of steam boilers.”

The conclave will focus on the safe and efficient use of steam boilers, with presentations demonstrating the success of previous editions in reducing industrial accidents and enhancing operational efficiency. Smt. Vinita Vaid Singal, Principal Secretary of the Labour Department, will outline the government’s long-term vision for improving worker safety. She remarked, “Our safety protocols are designed to integrate seamlessly into every industrial operation. By leveraging technological innovations like BMMS, we ensure that worker welfare remains central to the functioning of Maharashtra’s industries.”

D.P. Antapurkar, Director of Steam Boilers, will also address the department’s role in maintaining boiler safety throughout Maharashtra and discuss job opportunities in the boiler industry.

In addition to BMMS, the Safety and Efficiency Conclave will tackle critical issues such as preventing industrial accidents, maximizing operational efficiency through new technologies, and promoting green initiatives. The Directorate aims to minimize the environmental impact of industrial operations while prioritizing worker safety.

The conclave will provide a platform for industry leaders, government officials, and the public to engage in meaningful discussions about the future of worker safety, technological advancements in the industry, and sustainability practices.
