The Konkan Housing and Area Development Board, a regional unit of the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA), has extended the deadline for its 2025 housing lottery. Applicants can now submit their online forms until September 12, 2025 for a chance to win one of 5,285 flats and 77 residential plots on offer across Thane city, Thane district, and Vasai (Palghar district).

The computerised lottery draw will be held on October 9, 2025 at Dr. Kashinath Ghanekar Natyagriha, Thane, as announced by Mrs. Revati Gaikar, Chief Officer of the Konkan Board.

Applications Surge Past 1.49 Lakh

As of 4:00 PM on August 28, 2025, MHADA had received 1,49,948 applications, of which 1,16,583 included the earnest money deposit (EMD).

Under the revised schedule:

  • Last date for online applications: September 12, 2025 (11:59 PM)
  • Last date for EMD payment online: September 13, 2025 (11:59 PM)
  • Last date for EMD payment via RTGS/NEFT: September 15, 2025 (11:59 PM)

Only applicants who complete documentation and payment will be eligible.

Timeline of Key Dates

  • Draft list of eligible applicants: September 22, 2025 (6:00 PM)
  • Deadline for claims/objections: September 24, 2025 (6:00 PM)
  • Final list of eligible applicants: October 7, 2025 (6:00 PM)
  • Lottery draw & results: October 9, 2025

Flats & Plots Under Various Schemes

The 5,285 flats and 77 plots are spread across multiple schemes:

  • 20% Inclusive Housing Scheme: 565 flats
  • 15% Integrated Urban Housing Scheme: 3,002 flats
  • Konkan Housing Scheme (scattered units): 1,677 flats
  • Affordable Housing (50% reserved): 41 flats
  • Residential plots: 77 plots in Oros (Sindhudurg) and Kulgaon-Badlapur

The application window initially opened on July 15, 2025, inaugurated by MHADA’s Vice President and CEO, Mr. Sanjeev Jaiswal (IAS). The deadline was first extended to August 28 and is now extended once more to September 12 to accommodate the high demand.
