Omaxe Ltd. has announced a Rs. 1000 crore investment to develop a new integrated township, New Amritsar, through its subsidiaries. The project spans 260 acres on GT Road, just 12 minutes from the Golden Temple. In the first phase, 127 acres will be developed, with residential plots of 300, 500, and 1000 sq. yards, along with commercial zones, a school, clubhouse, and other planned infrastructure.

This initiative strengthens Omaxe’s presence in Punjab, where it is already active in New Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Patiala, Derabassi, Amritsar, and Bathinda. The township is positioned to benefit from major infrastructure upgrades, including the under-construction 99 km Nakodar-Amritsar branch of the Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway, the 98 km Amritsar Ring Road, and an elevated road corridor linking central Amritsar to the township. The Sri Guru Ram Das Ji International Airport is also undergoing a Rs. 300 crore expansion.

New Amritsar has secured RERA registration and necessary approvals. The township’s layout includes landscaped greens, wide internal roads, water and power infrastructure, cycling and walking tracks, and 24×7 security, with a focus on long-term livability and future scalability.

The first phase is expected to be completed in about four years, funded through internal accruals and backed by financial institutions. Omaxe may explore additional funding based on future needs. With this project, the company aims to contribute to Punjab’s urban development and meet growing residential and investment demand in Amritsar.
