The Mumbai Board of the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) has announced that the deadline for submitting applications for the lottery of 2030 residential units from various housing projects in Mumbai is 12:00 PM on September 19, 2024. However, applicants will have until 11:59 PM on the same day to pay the online earnest money deposit.

The online application registration and submission process began on August 9, 2024, at 12:00 PM. The lottery has received a strong response, with 75,571 applications received by 7:00 PM today, September 13, 2024, including approximately 55,000 with earnest money deposits.

The computerized lottery draw will take place on October 8, 2024, at 11:00 AM at the Yashwantrao Chavan Center in Nariman Point, Mumbai.

Applicants must make the earnest money deposit via RTGS/NEFT during the working hours of their bank on September 19, 2024. The preliminary list of received applications will be published on MHADA’s website https://housing.mhada.gov.in at 6:00 PM on September 27, 2024. Objections to the preliminary list can be filed online until 12:00 PM on September 29, 2024. The final list of accepted applications will be published on the same website at 6:00 PM on October 3, 2024. Names of successful and waitlisted applicants will be announced on the MHADA website after the lottery.

In the 2024 Mumbai Board lottery, 3,589 units are available for the Economically Weaker Section (EWS), 627 units for the Lower Income Group (LIG), 768 units for the Middle Income Group (MIG), and 276 units for the Higher Income Group (HIG). This lottery includes 1,327 units built by MHADA, 370 units from redevelopment projects under Development Control Regulations 33(5), 33(7), and 58, and 333 units from scattered settlements from previous lotteries.

MHADA has stated that it has not appointed any representatives, consultants, or property agents for the lottery. Applicants are advised not to engage with any such individuals, as the Mumbai Board will not be responsible for any transactions or fraud.
