Launched on October 11, 2024, the scheme offers 26,000 affordable housing units under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) for Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and Lower Income Group (LIG) categories. These units are located at various nodes in Navi Mumbai, including Vashi, Bamandongri, Kharkopar, Kharghar, Taloja Mansarovar, Khandeshwar, Panvel, and Kalamboli. Applicants have the unique opportunity to select the tenement of their choice.

The scheme offers affordable prices along with the chance to live in Navi Mumbai, known for its excellent infrastructure, connectivity, and quality construction.

To assist applicants, the online registration deadline has been extended, giving them more time to collect necessary documents such as Income and Domicile Certificates. Additionally, the requirement for a barcoded Domicile Certificate has been relaxed, allowing applicants to submit a non-barcoded certificate during registration. However, a barcoded certificate will be required before the allotment letter is issued. The need for an affidavit on Rs.100 or Rs.500 stamp paper has also been relaxed, with applicants now allowed to submit a self-attested affidavit on plain paper.

CIDCO urges eligible applicants to apply for the scheme before the extended deadline to secure their chance of owning a home in Navi Mumbai.

According to the revised schedule, online registration of applications for Mass Housing Scheme Diwali-2022 can be completed by 21 January, 2023. The online applications can be submitted till 22 January, 2023. The online payment process has to be completed by 24 January, 2023. The draft list of accepted applicants will be published on 31 January, 2023 and the final list of accepted applicants will be published on 03 February, 2023 on CIDCO’s website https://lottery.cidcoindia.com/. The computerized lottery draw for the scheme will be conducted on 08 February, 2023.

The last date for the online application of the scheme was December 22, 2022. However, CIDCO has granted an extension to the scheme in order to facilitate more and more citizens to apply for the scheme and fulfill their dream of home. The deadline for the payment of fees and EMD amount and the computerized lottery draw has been extended accordingly.  

CIDCO launched the Mass Housing Scheme Diwali – 2022 on October 24, 2022 on the auspicious occasion of Diwali and made available 7,849 apartments at Bambandongri railway station, Kharkopar East 2A, Kharkopar East 2B and Kharkopar East 2P in Ulwe node of Navi Mumbai for the EWS category under PMAY. The housing scheme has offered an opportunity to the citizens to buy home at affordable rate in rapidly developing and well-connected Ulwe node. 

The housing complexes under the scheme have got an excellent connectivity through Bamandongri and Kharkopar railway stations on Nerul-Uran railway corridor, highway and the proposed MTHL. Also, the housing complexes are in the proximity of Navi Mumbai International Airport being developed by CIDCO and hence, the Ulwe node has gained an importance on an international level.

CIDCO has completed the construction of a 12-storey residential tower with 96 tenements at Bamandongri in Navi Mumbai in just 96 days using advanced precast technology.

With this achievement, CIDCO has set a new land mark in mass housing thereby fulfilling the motto of PMAY scheme “Housing for All” in the speediest way.

CIDCO has undertaken the Mass Housing Scheme under PMAY based on the ‘Transit Oriented Development’. Under the scheme the work of constructions of tenements for EWS and LIG categories, is in full swing in various nodes of Navi Mumbai. 

CIDCO had set a target of ‘Mission 96’, of completing the construction in short time. Accordingly contractor M/s Larsen & Toubro has used precast technology for ultra-rapid construction to build safe and durable homes.

Flagged off on April 4, 2022 the construction of a 12-storey residential tower is completed on July 9, 2022. It has helped to fulfil the RERA norms of timely completion of projects.

Mission 96 has showcased the Precast Technology capability to build with superior quality in factory-controlled environment, reduced floor cycle time and low manpower availability risks.

The Precast Technology is touted as the future of construction of residential towers for mechanized rapid construction with superior quality based on controlled manufacturing in a factory environment. The work involves production and installation of 1,985 precast elements of the superstructure along with architectural finishes and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing) works over a built-up area of 64,000 sq. ft. Apart from construction technology, digital technology was also used to monitor the development of a construction.

68.4 hectares of Mangrove Forest Area under the CIDCO jurisdiction in the Panvel Taluka was handed over to the Mangrove Cell of the Forest Department in the second phase on 21 February 2022.

Dr. Sanjay Mukherjee, VC & MD, CIDCO handed over the mangrove area to M Adarsh Reddy, Divisional Forest Officer, Mumbai Mangroves Conservation Unit.

In the first phase, CIDCO has handed over 281.77 hectares of Mangrove forest under its jurisdiction to the Forest Department. Considering the importance of these mangrove forests, they have been handed over to the Forest Department by CIDCO aiming to protect and conserve mangrove regions as ‘Reserved Forest.’

“We are committed to the Environment and sustainable development. While planning Navi Mumbai, CIDCO had kept about 40% area for green cover including gardens, playgrounds and Non Development zone. Under the guidance of GoM so far, CIDCO has handed over Approx. 2000 hectares of land to the forest department, making it the only Government organization and Public Sector Undertaking to hand over such large pieces of mangrove lands,” said Dr. Sanjay Mukherjee, Vice-Chairman and Managing Director, CIDCO

In order to protect and preserve the mangrove forests in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, the concerned government agencies and authorities were asked to transfer the mangrove forest areas under their jurisdiction to the Mangrove Cell of the Forest Department. In the first phase, CIDCO transferred a total of 281.77 hectares of Mangroves forests in August 2021.

Out of the total 281.77 hectares, 134 hectares were located at Kamothe, 38 hectares at Panvel, and 109 hectares at Kolhe-Khar. In the second phase, CIDCO handed over a total of 68.4 hectares of Mangrove forest area to the Forest Department. Out of the total 68.4 hectares, 24.20 hectares are located at Ulwe, 3.15 hectares at Wahal, 39.94 hectares at Waghiwali, and 0.75 hectares at Sonkhar.

Also, CIDCO has planted Mangroves over 370 Hectares with the help of Mangrove cell, which is functional. Mangrove interpretation cell is also located in Airoli.

Mangroves play an important role in preventing the flooding of residential areas during heavy monsoon and storms and significantly reduce soil erosion in the coastal areas. These mangrove forests are also home to a large number of species of animals, birds, and aquatic life. Thus, in order to provide sufficient statutory security to the mangrove region in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, CIDCO has notified and handed over the mentioned mangrove region to the mangroves cell of the forest department.
