<p>Sportsfield the nine storey building located in Worli that houses legendary cricketers and other sports celebrities is up for redevelopment, tender floated.</p>

<p>Right Opposite the Worli Bandra Sea Link is located the iconic building Sportsfield. This building is home to Sunil Gavaskar, Dilip Vengsarkar, Ravi Shashtri and several other celebrity sportsmen is now up for redevelopment.</p>



<p>A tender inviting offers from reputed developers for the redevelopment was floated recently. Sportsfield Co-op. Housing Society Limited comprises of total 16 members with 18 residential flats and one commercial premises having total plot area of 1716.85 square meters.</p>



<p>The building is on Worli seaface and offers an unobstructed sea view to the residents. The tender notice reads, “The existing society member are Indian Sports legend making it a prestigious project not only by location but by stature.”</p>



<p>When contacted Dilip Vengsarkar who is also the resident of the building he confirmed the redevelopment notice. Vengsarkar said, “The building is around 35 years old, and there are several problems including that of leakages. Now we are looking for redevelopment of the building and for that same purpose tender has been floated.”</p>



<p>Vengsarkar further added, “There also is a need of more parking space as every home has two car each, with redevelopment we are expecting a bigger home too and more space for car parks.”</p>



<p>Architect Mukund Godbole, of Godbole Mukadam and Associates the architect firm which issued the notice said, “Developer who comes in will decide under which Development Control Rules (DCR) will they carry out the redevelopment as there are many DCR rules under which redevelopment can be carried out. The FSI and other details cannot be revealed now.”</p>



<p>Developers can submit their offers till August 6, 2022 for the redevelopment of Sportsfiled building.</p>

<p><strong>First floor</strong>– M M Somaiya, part of the national hockey team that won gold at the 1980 Moscow Olympics</p>



<p>Eknath Solkar family, one of the most successful fielders in test cricket. Had 53 catches in 27 matches</p>



<p><strong>Second floor</strong>– Ramakant Desai’s family, one Of the fast bowlers in the 1960s</p>



<p>Pradeep Gandhe, former interior shuttled and former Vice President of the badminton association of India</p>



<p><strong>Third floor</strong>– Wilson Jones Family, Billiards legend and India’s first world champion in any sport</p>



<p>Umesh Kulkarni, Former bowler, part of the Indian team that beat New Zealand in 1968</p>



<p><strong>Fourth floor</strong>– Ravi Shashtri, former Cricket captain and coach of Indian cricket team</p>



<p>Yajurvindra Singh, former cricketer with a national record of most catches in a match</p>



<p><strong>Fifth floor</strong>– Sharad Diwadkar former cricketer played for Mumbai.</p>



<p>Dilip Vengsarkar, scored three centuries at skiers and held important positions in the field of cricket administration</p>



<p><strong>Sixth floor</strong>: Polly Umirgar family one of the bigger record holder before the Gawaskar-Kapil Dev era</p>



<p>R G Nadkarni he has bowled the 21 consecutive maidens in a match</p>



<p><strong>Seventh floor</strong>: G S Ramchand family he led India to a its First win against Australia in 1959</p>



<p>Ashok and Nirupama Vasant Mankad, Ashok is the son of Vibhoo Mankad and has played for India, Nirupama was a tennis player</p>



<p><strong>Eighth floor</strong>– Sunil Gavaskar, one of the best batsmen who scored over 10,000 runs and 34 test centuries</p>



<p><strong>Ninth floor</strong>– Ajit Wadekar, won against England in 1971</p>
