The Maharashtra Government has approved a rent payment of ₹2,16,45,168 for the State Cyber Office located at the World Trade Centre (WTC), Cuffe Parade, Mumbai, covering the period from April 2025 to October 2025 (a total of seven months).


🏢 Background: Cyber & Women Atrocity Prevention Wing

The Cyber and Women Atrocity Prevention Wing under the Maharashtra Police was established through a Government Resolution (GR) dated January 5, 2016.
Subsequent resolutions in March and April 2016 approved office space of 10,469 sq. ft. at WTC — with 8,469 sq. ft. allocated for the Cyber & Women Atrocity Prevention Wing and 2,000 sq. ft. for the Economic Offences Wing (EOW).

In March 2025, the government extended the lease agreement between the Additional Director General of Police (Cyber), Maharashtra State Cyber, Mumbai, and M. Visvesvaraya Industrial Research and Development Centre (MVIRDC) — which manages the World Trade Centre — for the period March 14, 2025, to March 13, 2026.


💰 Rent Details and Payment Structure

As per the latest GR issued on November 11, 2025, the approved total rent for seven months amounts to ₹2,16,45,168 (Rupees Two Crore Sixteen Lakh Forty-Five Thousand One Hundred Sixty-Eight).

🧾 Allocation and Financial Compliance

The payment will be made through the Account and Treasury Office, Mumbai, under the supervision of the Additional Director General of Police (Cyber), Maharashtra State Cyber, Mumbai.
The rent expenditure will be booked under the following budget head:
“2055 – Police (00)(00)101 Crime Investigation & Vigilance (06) Cyber and Women Atrocity Prevention Cell – 14 Rent and Other Expenditure.”

The Finance Department’s guidelines dated April 7, 2025, regarding expenditure control and certification procedures, must be strictly followed.
