The Mumbai Board of Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) today decided through the computerized system of 1133 rehabilitation flats to be distributed to the eligible police personnel living in Chawl in the proposed rehabilitation buildings under the first phase of Worli BDD Chawl Redevelopment Project.

The rehabilitation flat number, building number, wing of the building, floor of the flat in the building to be given on ownership basis in the buildings to be constructed to Police Personnel under the redevelopment project.

The list of tenants/occupants including serving, retired and legal heirs of deceased police personnel among 1133 eligible police personnel residing in BDD Chawl No. 22 to 28, 64 to 74 and 77 in Worli has been sent to the Mumbai Housing and Area Development Board by the Office of the Commissioner of Police, Mumbai.

Accordingly, the number of flats to be provided to the eligible tenants/residents in the rehabilitation buildings constructed under redevelopment on ownership basis was determined through a computerized system in a randomized manner. RAT (Random Allocation of Tenement) system was used for that.

In BDD Chawls the government has decided to distribute redeveloped flats of 500 square feet area under redevelopment of BDD chawls to the police personnel who are residing (serving, retired and legal heirs of deceased police personnel) till January 01, 2011.

It was also decided to levy a construction cost of Rs.15 lakh for the permanent redeveloped flats to be given to the police personnel / their heirs. After this decision, the flats in the redeveloped buildings were fixed today.
