Legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan has acquired a 2.67-acre land parcel in Ayodhya for ₹35 crore from The House of Abhinandan Lodha (HoABL), reinforcing growing investor confidence in the rapidly transforming temple town.
The transaction was executed on Friday afternoon by Rajesh Yadav, Managing Director of AB Corp Ltd.

The land parcel is located near HoABL’s 75-acre luxury land development project ‘The Sarayu’, situated along the banks of the Sarayu River in Ayodhya.
Third Investment in Ayodhya
This acquisition marks the third investment in Ayodhya by Amitabh Bachchan through HoABL, highlighting continued confidence in the city’s long-term real estate potential.
Bachchan was also the first citizen investor of HoABL’s project ‘The Sarayu’ when the development was launched in January 2024.
The latest purchase strengthens the actor’s association with the developer and reflects increasing interest among high-net-worth individuals in land investments linked to spiritual tourism hubs.
Ayodhya’s Real Estate Momentum
Ayodhya has witnessed a dramatic transformation over the past few years, driven by large-scale government infrastructure investments, improved connectivity, and urban redevelopment initiatives.
The city’s profile has significantly risen following the construction of the Ram Mandir, which has turned the historic town into one of India’s fastest-growing pilgrimage and tourism destinations.
According to government estimates, tourist footfall has surged sharply, rising from approximately 5.75 crore visitors annually before the temple construction to nearly 23 crore visitors between January and June 2025 alone. The number of visitors is projected to reach around 50 crore by the end of 2025.
This surge in tourism has also boosted investor interest in the city’s land market, with developers increasingly positioning Ayodhya as a spiritual-tourism-led real estate destination.
Land as a Long-Term Investment
Commenting on the development, Abhinandan Lodha, Chairman of The House of Abhinandan Lodha, said the investment reflects a shared belief in land as a long-term generational asset.
According to Lodha, Ayodhya represents a unique combination of faith, heritage, and long-term wealth creation, with land ownership increasingly being viewed as a legacy asset for families.
The developer believes that sustained infrastructure upgrades and public investment will continue to drive demand for land ownership in the city over the coming years.
Growing Celebrity Interest in HoABL Projects
The acquisition further highlights growing interest among celebrities and corporate leaders in HoABL’s plotted development projects.
Amitabh Bachchan had earlier invested in the developer’s ‘Sol de Alibaug’ project, purchasing a 10,000-square-foot plot in the coastal destination.
The project has also attracted investments from Bollywood actors Kriti Sanon and Kartik Aaryan.
According to the company, more than 65% of HoABL’s customers across its projects are CEOs and CXOs from leading BFSI, pharmaceutical, and multinational corporations, along with prominent Bollywood personalities and other celebrities.
With rising tourism, infrastructure development, and increasing private investment, Ayodhya is gradually positioning itself as one of India’s most significant emerging real estate markets linked to spiritual tourism and heritage development.
