Close to 2,500 homes from Goregaon Pahadi and other unallotted homes from Mumbai may be part of MHADA lottery. Senior officials from Mumbai Board have been assigned the task to find these homes.

Last week housing minister Jitendra Awhad announced that there would be soon a MHADA lottery in Mumbai.

This has raised hopes of several those seeking to buy a home in Mumbai and have been waiting for a MHADA lottery.

Senior officials of MHADA’s Mumbai Board held rounds of meeting to identify homes that can be put in the lottery.

According to sources in MHADA Goregaon’s Pahadi has several homes that are under construction.

Of all the under construction homes around 2,500 homes in Goregaon’s Pahadi area may come be put in the lottery.

The reason being that these 2,500 Goregaon homes may be ready in the near future.

Apart from this, there are several other homes that can come up in the lottery.

The lottery may include Goregaon homes and also the unallotted or scattered homes across the city.

When contacted Yogesh Mhase, Chief Officer Mumbai Board to confirm about the development he said, “It was a routine instruction to check for unallotted flats.”

Once the number of homes is identified by the officials in MHADA will they finalise the lottery and announce the dates.

The task for the officials at MHADA’s Mumbai Board is that they have to find all these homes at the earliest as an announcement has been already made by the minister.

Last week MHADA’s Pune Board announced a lottery for 5,647 homes. The lottery will be held on January 23.
