Believe it or not, but the state housing authority MHADA has received more than 2.05 lakh applications for the lottery of 8,984 homes, till late Thursday evening.

Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) has received more than 2.05 lakh applications from common homebuyers.

MHADA lottery for which the last date of registration was Wednesday and for application was Thursday. The Konkan Board (MHADA’s divisional component) has announced a public computerized lottery for 8,984 flats.

Registration for the lottery commenced on August 24, and earlier it was to be till 11.59 pm on September 22, 2021, while the last date for submission of application was till 11.59 on September 23, 2021.

However, MHADA announced an extension, as per the new schedule, the interested eligible applicants can register online application for this computerized draw till 11.59 pm on September 29, 2021.

Registered applicants Online applications can be submitted till 11.59 pm on September 30, 2021. Payment of deposit (EMD) through RTGS / NEFT online as well as in the bank. Can be done till 11.59 pm on October 01, 2021.

Publication of the draft list of applications accepted for the draw will be held on October 04, 2021 at 6 pm on MHADA’s official websites https://lottery.mhada.gov.in and https://mhada.gov.in.

Claims-objections since the publication of the draft list can be filed till 3 pm on October 05, 2021.

Publication of the final list of applications accepted for the draw. will be held on October 6, 2021 at 6 pm.

The program of computer lottery shall be held on the earlier decided date of October 14, 2021 at 10 am, at Dr. Kashinath Ghanekar Natyagriha, near Hiranandani Meadows, Manpada, Thane (West).

Since the start of registration, a total of 2,15,123 users registered with MHADA, of which 1,51,226 registered with MHADA.

Of the total registration MHADA has received application from 2,05,116 from homebuyers wanting to buy a home.

Till late Thursday evening a total of 1,63,378 applicants had paid their Earnest Money Deposit.

This huge response goes on to show that homebuyers are willing to buy homes, but at the rate at which they find them affordable.

Developers can take a cue from this move and probably construct homes that the common man can afford.
