In 2019, the Government owned departments came out with auction of properties of the topmost family of the Underworld Don Dawood Ibrahim

In the year 2019, Dawood Ibrahim, Haseena Parker and Iqbal Mirchi the names connected to the Underworld were in news for different reasons. There properties either were auctioned, or process of auction were initiated.

For example in June 2019, The Smuggling and Foreign Exchange Manipulators (Forfeiture of Property Act) (SAFEMA), which comes under the Ministry of Finance has sent officers from Mumbai to Dawood’s ancestral village named Mumbke, located in Khed Taluka of Ratnagiri district.

The officials from Mumbai and Solapur went to evaluate the property belonging to Dawood and his ancestors. The total land covered by the bungalow and the compound was taken into consideration before deciding on the property’s current price. It is expected to be auctioned soon.

According to reports, the bungalow is not in a good shape now and was constructed by Dawood’s father Ibrahim Kaskar, who was then employed with the Mumbai Police. Some reports suggest that the bungalow was under the name of Dawood’s mother Amina. 
The SAFEMA officials hope to successfully auction the property after its due valuation.

While Dawood Properties were being evaluated for a future auction. In April 2019, a property belonging to Haseen Parker, the late sister of Dawood was auctioned by SAFEMA

Flat that once belonged to Dawood Ibrahim’s sister Haseena Parkar found a new buyer in April, who paid Rs 1.80 crore for the approximately 600 sq ft apartment located in Nagpada. The flat is located on the first floor of Gordon Hall Apartment, Nagpada.

A long time aide of Dawood, Iqbal Mirchi’s name also cropped up in the 2019, with connections to property. SAFEMA did even put his flats on auction. In October SAFEMA came out a with a notice to auction flats connected to Iqbal Mirchi.

Two properties connected to gangster Iqbal Mirchi, who was also the right hand man of underworld’s dreaded don Dawood Ibrahim located in Mumbai’s Santacruz west was put on auction. The reserve price for the two flats is Rs 3.45 crore. 

The properties are flat number 501, and 502 both located in the building named Milton Apartments CHS Ltd, is located in Juhu Tara Road, Santacruz West. As per the society records the area both the flats is 1245 sq ft. 

Previous Auctions with Underworld Connections

In 2018, SAFEMA had put another property belonging to Dawood, named Amina Mansion located in Pakmodia street, on auction. The reserve price of the property was Rs 79.43 lakh, and it was won by the Saifee Burhani Upliftment Trust (SBUT) for Rs 3.51 crore.

In November 2017, the SBUT had won three properties in an auction carried out by SAFEMA. The properties were Shabnam Guest House, six flats in Damarwala building and restaurant Raunaq Afroz — all located in Bhendi Bazaar and belonging to the don’s family.
