What is E-Praman?

The Department of Registration and Stamps, Maharashtra has launched E-Praman 2.0, a digital service platform that allows citizens to access legally valid, digitally signed copies of their property and marriage-related documents without visiting a government office.

From Index II and registered property documents to marriage certificates and will deposits, everything is now just a few clicks away.

Why This Matters for Homebuyers

For property buyers, sellers, or even families checking property records, earlier you had to visit the Sub-Registrar’s Office (SRO) and stand in long queues to obtain certified copies. With E-Praman 2.0:

  • You can apply online and pay via Internet Banking, UPI, or card.
  • Receive digitally signed copies that are legally valid.
  • Track applications and download certificates from home.

This makes property verification and due diligence much easier for homebuyers, reducing dependency on middlemen.
