Bollywood star Akshay Kumar has made headlines once again—this time for a high-profile real estate transaction in Mumbai’s premium commercial district, Lower Parel.

According to property registration documents reviewed by Square Yards on the Maharashtra Inspector General of Registration (IGR) website, Kumar sold an office space in the upscale One Lodha Place for ₹8 crore in April 2025. The commercial unit boasts a carpet area of approximately 106.56 sq. m. (1,146.88 sq. ft) and includes two dedicated car parking spaces.

The sale incurred a stamp duty of ₹48 lakh and registration charges of ₹30,000, reflecting the significant valuation of the premium property located in one of Mumbai’s most sought-after business hubs. One Lodha Place, developed by Macrotech Developers Limited, spans 1.08 acres and offers high-end office spaces ranging from 179 sq. ft. to 27,392 sq. ft.

Kumar originally purchased the property in December 2020 for ₹4.85 crore, indicating an impressive 65% increase in value over a little more than four years. This underscores the growing demand and soaring real estate prices in prime Mumbai locations, particularly in Lower Parel, known for its connectivity to major business districts like Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) and Nariman Point.

According to Square Yards Data Intelligence, One Lodha Place has seen significant traction in the past year, with eight transactions worth a total of ₹618 crore registered between May 2024 and April 2025. The average property price in the project stands at ₹48,000 per sq. ft.

Several other Bollywood personalities, including Abhishek Bachchan, Shahid Kapoor, Amish Tripathi, and Manoj Bajpayee, also own properties in the area, reinforcing Lower Parel’s reputation as a preferred address for the elite.

Akshay Kumar, often hailed as the “Khiladi of Bollywood,” continues to make smart financial moves both on and off screen. With a celebrated film career spanning over three decades and more than 100 films, the National Award-winning actor is known not just for his cinematic versatility but also for his disciplined lifestyle and philanthropic initiatives. He was honoured with the Padma Shri for his contribution to Indian cinema.
