The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) has announced an extension for submitting applications for the Konkan Housing Board lottery, which offers 2,264 flats for sale. Applicants can now submit their applications until 11:59 PM on December 24, 2024, according to Chief Officer Revati Gaikar.

The application process for the lottery began on October 11, 2024. Interested applicants have until December 24, 2024, to register and participate. After this deadline, the application link will be deactivated. The payment of the earnest money deposit (EMD) can be made online until 11:59 PM on December 26, 2024. Additionally, payments via RTGS/NEFT can be made within banking hours on the same day.

A draft list of eligible applications will be published on MHADA’s official website, https://housing.mhada.gov.in, on January 8, 2025, at 6 PM. Applicants will have until 5 PM on January 10, 2025, to file claims or objections regarding the draft list. The final list of participants will be published on January 16, 2025, at 6 PM.

The computerized lottery for the eligible applicants will take place on January 21, 2025, at 10 AM. Results will be immediately communicated to the participants via SMS, email, and the MHADA app.

The lottery includes:

  • 594 flats under the 20% Inclusive Housing Scheme,
  • 825 flats under the 15% Integrated Housing Scheme,
  • 728 flats scattered across various housing projects under the Konkan Board, and
  • 117 plots for sale in Roha (Raigad) and Oras (Sindhudurg).

Chief Officer Revati Gaikar stated that the delay in the promotional campaign for the lottery was due to the Model Code of Conduct enforced during the state assembly elections. Post-elections, a special campaign was launched to boost response to the first-come-first-serve sale of flats. This campaign has received an overwhelming response, with nearly 6,000 citizens visiting MHADA stalls for information. Of these, 301 individuals have already paid the sale price to purchase flats.

To provide applicants with more time to apply for the 2,264 flats, the deadline has been extended. Chief Officer Gaikar urged citizens to take advantage of this opportunity and participate in the lottery.
