While this may sound unbelievable but it is true, there are homes that too 1 BHK for which select citizens will have to pay ₹2.5 lakh.

Who doesn’t want to own a house in Mumbai, probably everyone does.

But owning a house in Mumbai is an expensive affair, very expensive.

So what makes us say that one can own a 1 BHK in Mumbai that too for ₹2.5 lakh.

We also mentioned that it is for a select group who can own a 1 BHK for ₹2.5 lakh in Mumbai.

So state’s housing minister Jitendra Awhad took to social media to make some announcement.

Tweet by Housing minister Jitendra Awhad

He made several announcements of which one was about home and prices.

These homes are meant for a certain segment of citizens in the city of Mumbai.

So this offer is for slum dwellers and that too for those in a specific area.

In the Devendra Fadanvis government’s regime slum dwellers whose shanty belonged to the bracket of 2000 to 2011 were made eligible to get a house under the slum rehabilitation scheme.

These slum dwellers were to pay the construction cost of the home that they would get.

However, now there’s a change, the change is that these slum dwellers will have to pay a fixed amount.

The home which is a 1 BHK they get under redevelopment will now be charged a fixed ₹2.5 lakh.

The announcement was posted by the housing minister on Twitter.

So this those shanties built between the year 2000 to 2011 are now eligible to own a house at ₹2.5 lakh.

Every government and political party that comes to power always tries to appease the slum dwellers in the city.

Slums make a good vote bank and this to appease them, earlier free homes under the SRA scheme has been provided for shanties that came up to 1995 which later increased to Jan 1, 2000.

Once again targeting the slums and the slum dwellers there’s another step taken in that direction.
