Aamir’s mother Zeenat signed the deal on behalf of Aamir Khan Production Pvt Ltd.

In a recent deal, Actor Aamir Khan shelled out Rs 35 crore to buy a property spread over 859 sq mt at SV Road in Santa Cruz West. He has even paid Rs 2.10 crore as stamp duty for registering the property under the name of Aamir Khan Production Pvt Ltd. Along with the four office units the actor’s firm has also got six basement car parks and two open car parks. This would be one of the biggest commercial real estate deal concerning an A grade Bollywood celebrity.

The building in which the actor bought the four office units is named Prime Plaza. The building being close to his residence, and its connectivity is the reason why the actor must have opted for it. There are total of four units that the actor bought in the building, of which three are on the second floor and the fourth one is on the third floor. The total area is 859 sq mts, which translates in to 9246 sq ft. Of this the third floor office unit is close to 2,000 sq ft. The per sq ft rate that Khan paid for this office space comes to Rs 37,854.

According to a realty broker aware about the deal, Khan quite for some time has been looking for a commercial property, and that is when he came across this property at Santacruz. “Because of the location and such huge office space available, he immediately went for it,” said the broker. According to registration documents, the units earlier belonged to Anglo Eastern Tanker Management (Hong Kong) Limited. According to the source, the office was earlier used by this firm and business related to shipping ran from here. For Aamir Khan his mother Zeenat Tahir Hussain Khan signed the documents. 

A realty expert said, “These days celebrities and especially actors have turned into entrepreneurs. So earlier they would invest in to personal properties, and buy a yacht and other such luxuries. However, now they are also getting into commercial spaces to open up offices, production houses and getting into a new avenues, and in the recent past if you see many celebrities have bought commercial office spaces. The one bought by Khan is also for the same purpose and this is a bigger space compared to the one he currently has for the production house.”

A detailed message sent to Aamir Khan’s PR didn’t elicit any response from the actor. 

Deals that took place this year concerning Bollywood:

Earlier this year, actor Vivek Oberoi paid Rs 14.25 crore to buy a bungalow in Juhu. The carpet area of the bungalow is 2,100 square feet. Oberoi tendered Rs 85.50 lakh to register his bungalow with the registration department.

Bollywood actor Alia Bhatt recently bought a property at Juhu too. The actress paid Rs 13.11 crore for the 2,300 square feet apartment, the flat is on the first floor of a posh locality in Juhu.

on May 2, another big ticket deal took place, where the iconic RK Studios was sold by the Kapoor Siblings. In this deal Godrej Properties Ltd paid an amount of Rs 250 crore to the five Kapoor Siblings  for an area of 2.2 acre.
