On Wednesday, Mumbai Police acquired 58 residential units in Tardeo.

The residential units are located in the building number 10, M P Mill Compound.

The deal was signed between SD Corporation Pvt Limited and The Commissioner of Police, Mumbai.

The Corpus fund for these residential units is Rs 72.5 lakh.

Joint Commissioner of Police, S Jaykumar, confirmed that the residential units in Tardeo are for the officers of Mumbai Police.

A stamp duty of Rs 2.19 lakh was paid for the registration of the deal, which took place on Wednesday, (Feb 21).

Housing for the officers of Mumbai Police has been an issue for a long time, with homes within the city for them now, will help them save their time in commute.

Vibha D Sanghvi, a prominent figure from Sun Pharma, purchased two high-value properties worth Rs 130 crore in Mumbai’s Worli area within a month. The two luxury apartments, each valued at Rs 65 crore, were registered in November and December 2024. The properties include premium amenities such as ample parking spaces and expansive living areas. Sanghvi, a female buyer, availed a 1 percent stamp duty concession on both deals, with a total stamp duty of Rs 6.50 crore paid for the transactions.

Co-op Appellate Court: Past Members Can Sue Societies for Refund

In a key ruling, the Maharashtra Co-operative Appellate Court has held that past members of housing societies can directly sue for refund of amounts paid under disputed NOC conditions without needing permission from current flat owners. The court dismissed the society’s challenge to jurisdiction, clarifying that such disputes arising during membership fall squarely under Section 91 of the MCS Act.
