The lottery will be open to both economically weaker sections and low-income groups. The BMC Commissioner and Administrator, Mr. Bhushan Gagralani, has directed the implementation of this process. Interested applicants can apply for the apartments through the official BMC website: bmchomes.mcgm.gov.in.

Authority’s Discretion

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation reserves the right to make necessary changes regarding the apartments involved in this lottery. Furthermore, all terms and conditions outlined in the information booklet will remain applicable and subject to amendments as required.

So in January 2022, CIDCO will be holding a lottery of 5,000 homes in Navi Mumbai.

Urban Development minister of the state Eknath Shinde took to Twitter to make this announcement.

Shinde tweeted in Marathi below is it’s translation.
“To welcome the New Year with great enthusiasm @CIDCO_Ltd In the month of January 2022, the lottery process of 5,000 ‘Mahanirman’ houses has been started.”

While the prices are not known yet, but we can tell you where these homes would be.

Firstly these homes would be majorly for the economically weaker and low income groups.

The minister stated that the CIDCO homes will be
under the Gharkul Yojana, and these affordable housing will be made available to the Economically Weaker Sections and low income groups.

So these home are going to be at locations like Ghansoli, Kharghar, Kalamboli, Taloja and Dronagiri in Navi Mumbai.

Buying a home is a dream that many aspire for but cannot because of the high realty prices.

Hence many homebuyers eagerly await lottery of homes that are held by government bodies like CIDCO and MHADA.

These homes are priced at rates lower than that if the market rates and hence sought of become affordable.

A total of 8,984 homes have been put in lottery by Konkan Board.

These homes are located in Thane’s Ghodbunder Road, Kalyan, Ghansoli in Navi Mumbai, Mira Road, Titwala, Vasai and Virar.

Those aspiring homebuyers even include MLAs and big politicians of the state.

MHADA homes are affordable than the homes available in the market.

This is one of the biggest lottery of homes being conducted by MHADA in the recent years.

Amongst the applicants is Shiv Sena MLA Shreenivas Vanga, from Palghar district.

Vanga had claimed that without an MLA Hostel in Mumbai when he has to come and stay the rents become unaffordable.

He has applied for homes in Thane and Navi Mumbai.

One of the homebuyers who has applied for the lottery said, “The main reason why I have applied for the MHADA lottery is because the rates are affordable than market rate.”

The computerised lottery will be held in Thane on Thursday.

Homebuyers from all over the state have applied for the lottery expecting that they will own a home of their own.

MHADA has announced a lottery of 8,984 homes via its Konkan board.

The list of accepted applications is out and a Shiv Sena MLA has applied in at least two schemes one in Thane, while other on Navi Mumbai.

The Shiv Sena MLA is Shrinivas Vanga, from Palghar district.

When contacted Vanga he confirmed applying for MHADA lottery.

His reason, “There’s no MLA hostel right now, whenever I have to come to Mumbai have to stay in a rented apartment. The rent for the apartment here goes up to Rs 1 lakh, which is unaffordable. Hence looking for a house close to Mumbai.”

Vanga says he stays close to Gujarat border in Palghar, and even to reach Thane it takes 3 hours. This is the reason why he’s looking for a house that would be close and to Mantralaya and assembly.

In MHADA lottery there’s a special quota reserved for MP and MLAs. Vanga has applied for the home under this category.

He’s not alone there are several others politicians who have applied for a MHADA house.

One of the homes for which Vanga applied is in Ghansoli, the category is Lower Income Group. The carpet area of the flat measures 41.92 sq mt and costs Rs 20.70 lakh.

The MLA isn’t alone who feels that owning or renting a house in Mumbai or nearby areas isn’t everyone’s cup of tea.

A total of 2.46 lakh applications was received by MHADA for the 8,984 homes.

This goes on to show the demand that MHADA homes have, because of their affordability.

Homes in MHADA lottery are available for as less as Rs 10 lakh in certain categories.

MHADA lottery for 8,984 homes were announced in August 2021.

Since then till now more than 2.31 lakh applicants have already applied for the Konkan Board’s MHADA lottery.

The Konkan Board (MHADA’s divisional component) has announced a public computerized lottery for 8,984 flats.

MHADA lottery for which the last date of registration was last Wednesday and for application was last Thursday.

However, MHADA announced an extension, as per the new schedule, the interested eligible applicants can register online application for this computerized draw till 11.59 pm on September 29, 2021.

Registered applicants Online applications can be submitted till 11.59 pm on September 30, 2021.

Payment of deposit (EMD) through RTGS / NEFT online as well as in the bank. Can be done till 11.59 pm on October 01, 2021.

Since the start of registration, a total of 2,35,199 users registered with MHADA, of which 1,66,302 registered with MHADA.

Of the total registration MHADA has received application from 2,31,621 from homebuyers wanting to buy a home.

Till late Monday evening a total of 1,89,525 applicants had paid their Earnest Money Deposit.

The program of computer lottery shall be held on the earlier decided date of October 14, 2021 at 10 am, at Dr. Kashinath Ghanekar Natyagriha, near Hiranandani Meadows, Manpada, Thane (West).

The response is a mirror to the private developers who keep complaining that homebuyers are staying away from the market.

Flats in MHADA lottery are available as affordable rates and the response goes on to show that homebuyers are willing to buy homes if they aren’t available at affordable rates.

The Konkan Board (MHADA’s divisional component) has announced a revised schedule of public computerized lottery for 8,984 flats.

Registration for the lottery commenced on August 24, and earlier it was to be till 11.59 pm on September 22, 2021, while the last date for submission of application was till 11.59 on September 23, 2021.

As per the new schedule, the interested eligible applicants can register online application for this computerized draw till 11.59 pm on September 29, 2021.

Registered applicants Online applications can be submitted till 11.59 pm on September 30, 2021. Payment of deposit (EMD) through RTGS / NEFT online as well as in the bank. Can be done till 11.59 pm on October 01, 2021.

Publication of the draft list of applications accepted for the draw will be held on October 04, 2021 at 6 pm on MHADA’s official websites https://lottery.mhada.gov.in and https://mhada.gov.in.

Claims-objections since the publication of the draft list can be filed till 3 pm on October 05, 2021.

“Publication of the final list of applications accepted for the draw. will be held on October 6, 2021 at 6 pm,” informed the Chief Officer of the Konkan Board, Dr Nitin Mahajan.

“The program of computer lottery shall be held on the earlier decided date of October 14, 2021 at 10 am, at Dr. Kashinath Ghanekar Natyagriha, near Hiranandani Meadows, Manpada, Thane (West),” Mahajan said.

Of the total 8,984 homes, 6,180 flats have been made available under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) in the draw of Konkan Mandal. Of these, 624 flats are located at Shirdhon (Tal. Kalyan, Dist. Thane), 586 flats at Khoni (Tal. Kalyan, Dist. Thane) and 2016 flats at Survey No. 162 Khoni (Tal. Kalyan, Dist. Thane) for the lowest income group. There are 1769 flats at No. 13 Bhandarli (Tal. Dist. Thane) and 1185 flats at Gotheghar (Dist. Thane).

Also, under MHADA Housing Scheme, 15 flats are being made available at Mira Road (Thane) for Economically Weaker Section group. For low income group 1,742 flats at Virar Bolinj, 88 flats at Survey No. 13 Bhandarli (Tal. Dist. Thane) are included in the draw. For middle income group 36 flats at Virar Bolinj, 196 flats at Survey No. 216 PT, 221 PT Mira Road (Dist. Thane) have been made available in lottery.
