A circular issued by the Chied Engineer of Development Department of BMC has asked officials to upload their remarks within 24-hours of inspection of realty projects or action against them shall be initiated.

The BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation’s (BMC) Developmemt Department, has issued a circular earlier this week. The circular is specific that officials dealing in realty projects shouldn’t delay the No Objection Certificates.

The circular states, that a joint site inspection has been introduced by the BMC in March 2019. Wherein by an application of the architect, a single date is generated for the site inspection by various departments and the same is communicated to all via sms, email and other mediums.

The circular states, “It is expected that all the concerned departments shall visit the site as per the system generated date and upload their NOC, remarks within 24-hours.”

The BMC has even brought third party consultants under the joint site inspection. Where the their party shall also be present during the site inspection and upload his remark via the architect of the proposal within 24-hours.

The circular signed by VP Chithore in a stern voice has warned all the officials to follow this order scrupulously. They have been asked to carry out the joint site inspection only on the system generated date.

“Non observance of the SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) shall be viewed seriously and action deem fit will be initiated against the defaulters including the third party consultants,” read the circular.

All departments heads who are connected to this joint site inspection have been assigned the task to monitor it and see to it that, the staff follows.

Arqam Shaikh, Of ARC Associates, an architectural firm, said, “The circular by Chithorr sir has come out at the apt time. This will benefit a lot of projects across the city that get delayed because of a single NOC or remark. We hope that it is followed well and the results will be seen soon by all.”
